How to stop panic attacks naturally without medication?(and general anxiety) Try the 4 Methods below:

If you, or a loved one, have panic attacks, you will want to know how to stop it naturally, because there are many side effects with the traditional approach. The following methods are the best solution that I can find to stop panic attacks naturally.  I’ve tried all of them when I had panic attacks in the past.

Method #1: Panic Away Program

Panic Away Program, which has helped more than 54,000 people now, is currently the most popular natural method on the internet that specially designed for people with panic attacks or general anxiety.  From my experience , it’s the best of the 6 methods listed in this article, it has worked for me and many others , and there are lots of testimonials for this method, that’s why I introduce this method first here. Watch the video below to know more about it. The creator of the panic away program will show you how to stop panic attacks and general anxiety in this  video. Click play button to watch it on panic away program’s official website.

Method #2: Linden Method

The Linden method has been proven to be effort at helping people learn how to stop panic attacks naturally before they even get started. It must be understood that this method is not a quick fix type of program. You must put forth the effort and have the dedication to follow it through.

Method #4: Emotional Freedom Technique

The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) involves tapping on specific pressure points while you are reliving a traumatic event. It’s actually a very simple process. Some people doubt whether EFT works.(EFT has been labeled pseudoscience in the Skeptical Inquirer.)  Founder of EFT, Gary Craig said that when you are tapping, it always works whether you believe it or not , and he also said that it works on any existing mental problems, including panic attacks.  The truth is EFT didn’t work for me, I don’t know whether it will work for others.

Method #5: Sedona Method (link to official website)

You can remove your anxiety and suffering by using the Sedona way of stopping panic attacks naturally. The Sedona method focuses on letting go of your anxiety rather than attempting to fight it. It’s not a method only for panic attacks though. It is said by some people that Sedona Method will not only cure any mental problems that exist, it will also make you happier everyday.  I would suggest you think about sedona method after you have tried the panic way program.  It is a course that I highly recommend, but end panic attacks with panic away program first, then learn sedona method. I think this is the best combination. Panic away has helped me end panic attacks, sedona has made me happier everyday.

Breathing is also one of the method.
Reduce your anxiety by inhaling then exhaling deeply. You can also give as well as receive hugs from someone that you care about. In order to maintain your grip on reality you can read some text that you find. The type of text does not really matter. You will also need to focus very vividly on exactly what you are doing when you are reading the text. This will help you keep your mind off of your anxiety and on the mundane task that you are completing.

Method #6:  Opposite Method
When you first start to feel a panic attack, do not try to suppress or avoid the sensations that you are feeling. Simply observe them. Without labeling any of the sensations as either bad or good, simply feel them as they work their way through your body. At the point at which you do not think you can handle feeling those sensations for any longer, ask your body to ask for more of the sensations. Continue on in this pattern of asking to feel more of the sensations. As you continue to work through it, your body will begin to return to normal.

I didn’t read Sedona or closely related methods. But I like panic away, it makes sense. I’ll just have to try it on approach anxiety among other things now…

Psychosis is when the affected detaches from reality.

Panic attacks are a form of neurosis. Like OCD and similar conditions (when the body is so engrained in reality that it overreacts basically).

Anyways, Panic Away is actually in some way similar to the Sedona Method. You guys may want to check it out. For Panic attacks specifically Panic Away Program is definitely better.

A panic attack isn’t any form of psychosis… It’s an anxiety condition.

Most of the time people refuse to take any pills like Xanax or Valium, mostly because the side-effects are almost unbearable and they block out all of your emotions, making you feel like a robot going through your daily tasks.

“Take control of yourself” advice is like a piece of shit here, mostly because if it was that simple, they’d be over this torture already …so keep it to yourself.

CBT techniques do help, but I’m wondering if there’s something more effective to help your loved ones.

My mom has constant anxiety and her thoughts and behaviour are like taken over by this so her default state is very destructive and it’s a constant battle to combat these anxieties, attacks and depressions just to be able to interact and function “normally” with people. And very often she just don’t have strength to do that and gives in which means she just lies in bed and simply can’t get up. She’s taking a lot of different medications for this, I can’t remember what right now, but she says that these pills on a good day only helps to like 60% and you get side effects.
The thing is, I don’t really know if there is a way out of it. It seems that some people are just prone to having it, like it’s programmed in one’s DNA. I mean, how do you exercise mental stability? Would be interesting to hear what a guy like Tony Robbins thinks about issues like these. Some kind of cognitive therapy would be worth trying out and/or do something extremely radical – like going Lance Armstrong style and train to win seven tour de france.

I had a few panic attacks and then did a bunch of things and now I don’t have them any more. I did not learn it from any books.

EFT *may* help to ‘center’ yourself when in the midst of an attack so that you can handle it more rationally.

I have agoraphobia and slight OCD and have managed to deal with it in my own ways, its pretty hard to go into unless I speak to them in person but as far as products go the best one that helped me was Attacking Anxiety & Depression – Lucinda Bassett.

You can work on it without drugs but I have no idea if it will get worse for me as I get older or not, it seems to be getting better and there are people that have delt with it through understanding and facing your fears, its a long process but the sooner you deal with it the sooner you can start to enjoy life.

It can really effect your life and self esteem

As someone who suffered from panic attacks to the point where I thought about suicide, I can tell you that you eventually get “bored” of it. You’re constantly stressing yourself over nothing and your brain will eventually say “alright, i’m through”. Once you are ready to allow the panic attack to surface and you don’t take the feelings seriously (you’re not going to die and you’re not going crazy…so what are you worried about), it’ll go away.

Also, keep the xanax handy. If your anxiety ever gets the best of you, you can always have a safety blanket to help you out. Again, man…it’s something that’s all in your head. You’ll look back on this topic and laugh one day. I have a similar topic here about my anxiety that I posted over a year ago. I look at that shit and wonder who the fuck wrote it…..

if you see the wrong doctor they might start to medicate you and never deal with the problem. My psychiatrist referral letter from my GP is still sitting in my draw in case I need it but its important to do your best and develop coping skills, there is actually a huge community of people that suffer from this that you can talk too also, and the best thing for me was to listen to other people going through the same situation and knowing Im not on my own.

IMO whether you use CBT, NLP, self-talk, or whatever techniques you invent for yourself, the point is that nobody knows what is going on in your mind except you. Psychiatrists can’t read your mind and fix you, ultimately you have to learn how your mind works so that you can effectively manage it.

sometimes, procrastinating or avoid major decisions can lead to panic / anxiety or other emotional outbursts. just a thought…

ive been interested in self-help techniques such as NLP for years now. to be honest i never found much use in them, although i still continue to want to master them. meaning ive never gotten anything out of NLP but i still think it has huge potential and im just not able to feel anything for some reason. this has happened to me w/ a bunch of others things, havent found much benefit in tony robbins seminars, or even the sedona method.

now a few years ago i looked into EFT. i had the same problem w/ it i did w/ sedona (btw i did sedona much later) and that is that i couldnt really get in touch w/ any feeling so there was nothing to get rid of.

then one day i happened to be the angriest / most upset id been in ages. like a complete fucking 10. while i was hurt / upset / furious (actually panic would be a good way to describe it) i did realize this might be a good time to try it to see how it works. worked wonders man! the thing is, it was a very strange thing. i asked myself how intense my emotion is before doing the procedure (figuring out how panic’d you are is part of the process), i was at 10. then i did this. didnt feel anything, didnt consciously notice a change. but then after i did the procedure, which btw is about 60 seconds, i asked myself what my emotion level is. then i was FLOORED to realize it was wayyy lower. ive forgotten what it is now but it was like 5 or 4, or MAYBE 6 but no higher.

this is in fact a pretty strong testimonial b/c i havent gotten sedona or nlp or most of tony robbins’s stuff to work for me, yet this worked well. i think you should try it if feeling strong emotion, as seems to be the case here. dont need to read a book or anything either. just go thru a tapping intro on youtube.

I would suggest going to a professional (Medical doctor/psychiatrist) and get checked out, if you haven’t already. You can work with these additonal things (NLP etc.) on the side.

Horrible advice. This is scientifically proven to work very slowly (CBT) or not at all with plenty of side effects (medication). Of course you’ll always get a few smart guys who believe that these guys know what they are doing simply because they are wearing white coats.

Since science has eliminated this approach I’d go with what I have suggested.

I’ve only ever had one panic attack in my life so I’m no expert. It was a few years ago, probably induced by a heavy trip a few days earlier. I was on a London Underground (subway) train and surrounded by people, and I felt this mass of fear and panic crawling up from my abdominal area, up my chest towards my head. My vision became distorted and it was like everyone was crowding around me and shoving their faces right up against mine and yelling at me, although obviously they actually weren’t. My heart was pounding and I was sweating buckets. I knew instinctively if that mass reached my head I would start screaming right there and then. My tactic was to focus on that fear and panic, to concentrate on the physical sensation and objectify it as being purely physical. By objectifying it you start to dissociate the physical effect from the emotion. End result, after a few minutes the mass just dissolved away.

Probably saved me a trip to the psych ward.

As far as i know psychologists and psychiatrists have no clue how to cure anxiety. Most of them (private) uses CBT but they are expensive and they do not really understand CBT.

Some of them even causes more anxiety.

As a sufferer from panic attacks myself (brought on by use of psilocybin during my a few years back) I can say that I’ve tried almost everything from hypnosis to breathing exercises, conventional psychotherapy, SSRIs, bensodiazepines, gabapentin, effexor, and unfortunately NOTHING has actually really cured my panic attacks, although they appear less frequently now (hard to say what treatment did what) I have had no success in actually getting rid of them..

I have a .. well.. hypothesis that panic attacks are manifestations of not a cognitive disorder but a neurological injury or deficit. May sound farfetched but.. they just .. Well it’s a hell to live with.

I was going to take some magic mushrooms, do you still take them and how many did you take to get panic attacks? Are you sure it’s not something you already had?

Weed actually helps me deal with panic attacks and I dont believe that there is anything physically wrong or deficient in the brain or with the neurology (but if you keep putting your body through the stress of a panic attack it might develop) and I dealt with it without drugs, by changing my perspective and learning how to cope. I still have anxiety but nothing like the feeling of doom I had before.

You have tried all that western medicine has to offer – and none of that works. You have not really tried anything my friend. To heal you must look beyond limitations of western medicine – into stuff that is not yet scientifically proven.

For panic attack I’d use Hale Dwoskin – Sedona supercourse, going throough all CDs and especially focusing on CD 8 – releasing fear track.

Anxiety runs in my family and I have seen a couple of them have panic attacks first hand and have even had a few myself. The last one I suffered from was brought on by weed. I hadn’t smoked in a long time b/c of school, my parents were out of town, and my brother convinced me to smoke a whole joint with him. I had a low tolerance even when I smoked regularly but since it was like I had no tolerance sharing a whole joint was way too much and it is the main reason why I don’t smoke weed anymore, besides being drug tested at job sites. I have saw studies where marijuana can increase pre-existing anxieties and now I believe it firsthand. I know personally I used weed as an excuse not to go off. Oh I can’t go out I’m stoned, what if I get busted or someone notices. Looking forward I think its best you don’t use weed or any drug as a crutch especially if it has the potential of making the situation worse.

Agoraphobia is a cause of fear of panic attacks in public

I have been working through “Overcoming Social Anxiety Step by Step” and I feel it is helping. If your panic attacks stem from social anxiety I would give it a try. I haven’t had any panic attacks in public recently and I feel a lot more relaxed socially. I wish I could recommend something more relevant but this isn’t something I suffer from often. CBT is proven to help with anxieties so maybe this program or something similar will help.

Medications may be needed short term. I personally can’t afford to see a doctor and get prescribed so this makes more sense to use CBT and work through it yourself.

I personally don’t think Sedona would help. They’ll probably just end up in the basement all day trying to release it instead of working towards a solution. Thats what I do like about “Overcoming Social Anxiety Step by Step” in that while his voice is unbelievable dull it sets a schedule. It is important to remind yourself that its not your fault, their are ways to improve the thoughts that come to your mind and that sometimes the mind does lie.

Also working through the Lefkoe Method may help in realizing sometimes what makes us feel a certain way is the judgments we give to the situations and many situations can have many explanations.

Sedona helps. CD8 describes actually what I consider as ‘powerfull’. I like his thoughts about ‘fantasies’ as well. Also his look on ‘affirmations’.

I was thinking Sedona Method is especially helpfull during the day as ‘detaching process’. But this dealing with fear is good to do during meditations and I believe quite strong this helps.

For me it’s easy (now) to understand why it works. My mind tends to ‘avoid’ situations and do certain actions cause ‘anxiety/fear/worry/panic is associated with a certain direction and accompanying actions.

With this proces, you softly invite those situations and deal with it. Let it go, maybe change some thoughts (beliefs) about it.. and let it go.

I also liked the proces of Mastering Fear (Michael Hall ). One proces deals with fear: If there is fear and I think about it it I mostly get stuck somewhere. Meaning the mind shifts to something else (flight response).

He had and exercises to ask ‘And then what’ after a thought associated with anxiety/worry/fear/panic etc. comes in. So not shifting to something else but asking this question.

I liked this. It is said, everything can be changed in the now. And this proces break through the pattern of getting stuck very soon (shifting to something else).

It really is ‘getting over’ it.

Anyway the proces of Sedona Method works as mentioned on its own… (I believe it does..).

I had a similar experience, had a big breakthrough with fear track on CD 8. I believe it is all that is necessary. Panic attacks and severe anxiety will just take more time to release. But Hale gives example of someone who got rid of his phobias that were present for decades within 7 days of releasing like on CD 8.

However people don’t like this. They want to struggle with their problems for long periods of time. They want to try everything and get micro improvements and live with it for years.
